National Bird is the
Indian Peacock (Pavocristatus). The
male of the species is more colourful
than the female. The elaborate courtship dance of the male , feathers is
a gorgeous sight.
National bird Peacock is fully protected under the Indian
(Wildlife) Protection Act, 1972 and is widely found in the Indian sub-
continent.
