Drought Management

·                       DAC is mandated to coordinate relief measures necessitated by drought, hailstorms and pest attacks. 

·               Spatial distribution and quantum of rainfall during South –West Monsoon mainly decides drought in the country, as South-West Monsoon is the main rainfall season when more than 70% of annual rainfall is received. Keeping in view impact of drought on agricultural economy, DAC closely monitors progress of South- West Monsoon in the country.
